There's a you tube channel for cats! I'll have to see if this entrances my two, like it entranced Pamela Merritt's cats. Apparently for her, the trick was to flip her laptop so the screen was lying flat - like an ipad. With this orientation, her cats have enjoyed watching all the prey animals that feature in this channel for cats. Afterall, watching and lurking is a favourite pastime for cats, so it may well work...

Hey thanks Fatima! It is most entertaining having these two! I actually didnt try out the youtube channel. We bought a dvd for cats of the same sort of stuff when we just had Kato - he did not even glance at it, despite our excited ushering. Kato just doesnt care about screens. He is exceptionally intelligent, so maybe that's why and he prefers the real live stuff. As for Ava, she would watch TV with us when she was a kitten, so I might try the youtube channel on her this winter when she is more settled - summer and adolescence just means she is on the go with loads of exciting things at the moment :) I think it is the success of this type of toy is very individual - some love it (and hence the Ipad catch type games for cats), and others, well meh...
